I decided to take the plunge on Friday and play my first live tournament at Crown in a long, long time. As part of Crowns $10 poker week, they held two tournaments daily each costing ten bucks, with the top ten paying and the top thirty qualifying for the final.
In a performance that would have made Jen proud, I managed to nurse my 600 in chips (with the blinds at 200-400) through to the top 30. Considering the amount of times I got my chips in as the favourite (i was a dominant early chip leader) and lost to some ridiculous hands, I'm very happy to qualify for the final.
The final will take place today at 4.10 - i'll make a post later tonight updating on how i went.

Update
As you may have heard, I have moved to Melbourne in search of better job prospects. This however, has not seen the collapse of Go Web Go. I will still remain the founder of Go Web Go in name, but due to not being able to play in the Central West region, i will be removing myself from the playing roster.
I will instead be posting my results at Crown Casino in both tournaments and cash tables.
In an interesting story, i managed to win two thousand dollars out of another players mistake yesterday. Holding A Q on a board reading Kh Jc 5c Kd 10c another player bet all in for just under a thousand dollars - which had me covered by about fifty dollars. Three other players were left in the hand, and instantly folded when he moved all in, thinking the hand was over, the player exposed his hand, showing Kc 8h for trips. Naturally, knowing i was guaranteed to win the hand, i made the call!

Update
Go Web Go continues to go from strength to strength, with final tables and top sixteens the order of the day.
Whilst we don't usually count NPL results, congratulations must go to Ben "Spidey" U'Brien and Adam "Venom" Thompson for their recent wins on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively, both at The Ox.
Congratulations also to Mark Cowie from Team Central West for his second place finish at last nights Panthers event.

More success for Go Web Go
Another successful night all round for Team Go Web Go last night at Oberon.
Best of all was Doug "Sandman" Hess who finished second despite being a dominant chip leader going into heads up.
